A presentation on splash pads for Little Creek Park was well received by members of the Mount Vernon Parks and Recreation Board. Mike Spencer and David Barns with Parkland Park and Recreation, a design and building company based in White Oak,
were the experts making the presentation at the board’s regular monthly meeting. The team presented different designs with two types of water usage varying in cost based on the diameter of the pad and the number of water features incorporated into it. Costs start at around $80,000 for construction. See the December 19 edition for more information.
