Bob Terry, a 79 year-old pilot and flight instructor, crashed his plane in a field in southern Franklin County on Thursday, July 10. He knocked the top out of one tree, limbs shown in the foreground, and flew through two other trees that knocked his wings off in an attempt to land in the field in the background. He was taken to ETMC Tyler where he had surgery. See the July 17 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more details.
