The Franklin County Airport will close to all aircraft traffic beginning Monday, Aug. 4. A pre-construction meeting was conducted Tuesday, July 22, during which the date was set.
The closure of the facility to aircraft traffic will continue for 90 days, until Nov. 1, while maintenance is completed on the runway, taxiway, parking apron and the runway lighting system. See the July 24 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more details from this story.
