Council allows golf carts on city streets, approves rabies fee

After a lengthy discussion, members of the Mount Vernon City Council unanimously agreed to allow the operation of golf carts on city streets with certain conditions during their Monday, June 12 regular monthly meeting.

Council members also approved an ordinance to charge $300 for the quarantine and testing of animals exposed to rabies. See the June 15 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for details on these and other actions taken during this week’s council meeting.
