Plumes of smoke rise from the roof of the Northeast Texas Opportunities offices and the Senior Citizens Meal Center on Wednesday, Jan. 18. The Mount Vernon Volunteer Fire Department responded quickly and kept the building from being a complete loss. The NETO offices continue to provide services to local individuals in need and meals will continue to be delivered. An alternate office location will open next week.
