Taxpayers should be aware of phony IRS e-mail

Do not open attachments, click on links or respond to fraudulent email that appears to come from the IRS, warns the office of the Texas Attorney General. Over the next several weeks, taxpayers should be on high alert for tax scams that attempt to steal their income tax refunds and identities.
