Hicks, Daphne Prairie receive Lone Star Land Steward Award

TPWD Vice Chairman Ralph Duggins,  Lone Star Land Steward honoree B. F. Hicks, and TPWD Executive Eirector Carter SmithB. F. Hicks, local attorney, historian and conservationist, was honored with the Lone Star Land Steward Award. The award was presented by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department at Austin’s  Hyatt Regency hotel Tuesday, May 21. The award recognizes Mr. Hick’s work in conserving a portion of the Daphne Prairie, considered part of the Blackland Prairie Region, in northeastern Franklin County.
