Geffers, Perrett are Rotary Students

Patti Sells presented a program to second grade students at Saltillo ISD on Veterans DayPatti Sells presented a program to second grade students at Saltillo ISD on Veterans Day, November 11. Her son, Sgt. Tanner Stone Higgins, 1/75 Ranger, was killed in action in Afganistan April 14, 2012. Another son, Specialist Dillon Henegar is currently serving in Afghanistan.

FFA Agricultural Advocacy team advances to Area competition

 As the students made their way to the front of the more than 650 people gathered, contrails from airplanes overhead appeared to make three crosses in the sky.Mount Vernon ISD students “stood up for God” in front of a rally on Sunday, November 9 at the school campus. School earns perfect FIRST score

Superintendent John Kaufman announced that Mount Vernon ISD earned a perfect score of 70 possible points and a Superior rating under the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas.

Deal class takes Best in Show Award

Beth Deal’s third grade class took the Best in Show award at the Franklin County Historical Association’s fourth annual Paper Quilt Show.Beth Deal’s third grade class took the Best in Show award at the Franklin County Historical Association’s fourth annual Paper Quilt Show. FCHA is working with the school to determine a viable reward for members of the class.
