Sulphur Bluff seniors awarded over $90,000 in scholarships

Mount Vernon ISD Summer Feed ongoing

The Mount Vernon ISD summer feeding program is now underway in conjunction with their annual summer school. The feed will continue until Wednesday, July 3 in the elementary cafeteria.

Black graduates honored at Heritage Scholarship Banquet

Those honored at the annual Black Onyx Club’s scholarship banquet included, front row, Freda Evans, Kentriea Doss, Mystaria Brigham, Aylesha Williams, back row, Sakorey Chandler, Jacorey Rogers, Keenan Allen, and Myrodge McGill.Six local high school graduates, two college graduates and their families were recognized during the sixth annual Heritage Scholarship Banquet. The banquet is sponsored annually by the Black Onyx Club.

Mount Vernon ISD 2013 Graduation ceremonies

Commencement exercises were conducted at Meredith Stadium on Friday, May 31 for the 2013 Mount Vernon High School senior class. The graduates participated in singing the school song one last time.
