Mendez, Nguyen named band beau and sweetheart

Deal class takes Best in Show Award

Beth Deal’s third grade class took the Best in Show award at the Franklin County Historical Association’s fourth annual Paper Quilt Show.Beth Deal’s third grade class took the Best in Show award at the Franklin County Historical Association’s fourth annual Paper Quilt Show. FCHA is working with the school to determine a viable reward for members of the class.

School receives complaint from Freedom From Religion Foundation

The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) has a lodged a formal complaint with Mount Vernon ISD over religious postings, crosses and Bible verses in some classrooms, and quotes on the walls that reference religion.

Mount Vernon Elementary SchoolOctober is National Bullying Prevention Month.  Mount Vernon Elementary School partnered with the national organization, Parent Advocacy Coalition for Educational Rights to Become a Champion Against Bullying .
