Dairy Judging team compets at Houston

The Dairy Judging team competed at Houston and placed 28th out of 64 teams.The Dairy Judging team competed at Houston and placed 28th out of 64 teams. Natalie Oud was 17th high point individual out of 205 in the contest.

FFA brings home six blue ribbons

FFA members who displayed Ag Mechanics projects in Houston and their prizes.The Mount Vernon FFA brought home six blue ribbons from all six projects entered into the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR)  Ag Mechanics Contest March 18-20.

Nominations still being accepted for League of Honor

Nominations are still being accepted for the 2016 Franklin County Schools League of Honor. The deadline for submission is April 1. To date, the school district has not received any nominations.

New district calendar for 2016-17 reflects changes in state law

The Mount Vernon ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the 2016-17 District Calendar during their regular meeting on Monday, March 14. It was the first board meeting for new Superintendent Greg Weiss.

Dewey, Oud tops in 4-Way speech contest

Jourdan Dewey, Natalie OudJourdan Dewey took first place and Natalie Oud took second place in the annual Mount Vernon Rotary Club’s 4-Way Speech Contest in competition Thursday, March 17 at Mount Vernon High School.
