Computer Science Team wins State

Mount Vernon Baccalaureate Services changed

The Baccalaureate Service for Mount Vernon High School candidates for graduation has been changed. It will now be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 28 in the MVISD auditorium.

MVHS 2014 commencement ceremony Friday evening

Mount Vernon High School Graduating Class of 2014Commencement ceremonies for the 2014 graduating class of Mount Vernon High School will be at 8 p.m Friday, May 30 at Don Meredith Stadium. Members of the graduating class have chosen Stan Lowry to be guest speaker for the ceremonies.

Retirement reception to honor Bassham, Cates

Mount Vernon ISD will honor two retiring employees with a reception on Tuesday, May 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the high school library.

One Act Play wins State

Members of the Mount Vernon High School One Act Play cast and crew relish in their victory on the steps of the McCullough Theatre on Tuesday, May 20.The Mount Vernon High School One Act Play won the 2A State Competition Tuesday, May 20 in Austin. The performance earned the highest possible ranking of 1-1-1 from  the judges.

Teachers raise concerns at May board meeting

In a show of solidarity, approximately 25 teachers attended the May meeting of the Mount Vernon ISD school board to express their concerns about issues at the school.

Whitehurst, Proffitt win 2014 Civil War Journal Contest
