The Housing Authority of the City of Mount Vernon, Texas, will receive Bids for the Re-roofing of all structures at the TX337-001 and TX 337-002 sites until 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at the Housing Authority Office in MountVernon, Texas 75457, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Proposed forms of Contract Documents, including Plans and Specifications, are on file at the Office of the Housing Authority of the City of Mount Vernon, at the Office of Pat Dismukes, Architect and Planner, 405 West 3rd Street, Mount Pleasant, Texas 75455 at McGraw-Hill Plan Room in Irving, Texas TEXO/AGC Plan Room in Tyler, Texas and Reed Construction Data at www.reedplans.com.
Copies of the Documents may be obtained by depositing $100.00 with the Architect for each set of documents so obtained. Such deposit will be refunded to each Bidder who submits a Bid and returns the Plans, Specifications and other Documents in GOOD CONDITION within 10 days after Bid opening, and submits a Bid. Contractors who do not submit a Bid, but return the Plans and Specifications in GOOD CONDITION within ten (10) days shall receive one-half of their Plan Deposit. General Contractors will be allowed two (2) sets for Bidding purposes by deposit. Contract Documents are available to Subcontractors, including Material Suppliers, etc. on a “cost-of-printing” basis (which will not be refundable).
A Certified Check, payable to The Housing Authority of the City of Mount Vernon; U. S. Government Bonds; or a satisfactory Bid Bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the Bid shall be submitted with each Bid.
The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds and provide certificates of Insurance for Workers Comp, Commercial Liability, Insurance on Owned and Non-Owned vehicles used on site, and Builders Risk as outlined in the specs.
Attention is called to the provisions for Equal Employment Opportunity, and payment of not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Specifications must be paid on this Project. Qualified Section 3 respondents will receive preference and Minority, Women’s, and Historically Underutilized Businesses are encouraged to reply.
The Housing Authority of the City of Mount Vernon reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informalities in the Bidding.
No Bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of Bids without the consent of The Housing Authority of the City of Mount Vernon.
