Valera was born on January 8, 1922 to Arthur and Bird Aiken White in the Hagansport Community. She passed away at the Avalon House in Flower Mound, Texas on January 5, 2012, where she had been residing since April, 2011.

Services were held for Annie Lou Douglass Landrum, age 90, at the Harvey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.  Officiating the service were Rev. Pepper Puryear and Rev. Fred Randles of First Baptist Church Mount Vernon.

Funeral services for Charley Hopper, age 79 of Emory, formerly of Mount Vernon, were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Mount Vernon City Cemetery with Rev. Jack Wallace officiating.

Funeral services for Gleen Hall, age 77 of Hagansport, were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012 at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Stouts Creek Cemetery with Rev. Randy Sinclair, Rev. Larry Rosamond, and Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating.
