Funeral services for William Louis Smyers, age 73 of the Hagansport Community, were at 11a.m. Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Harvey Funeral Home Chapel. with Rev. Jeff Duvall officiating.
Burial was at the Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Duvall officiating.
Mr. Smyers was born on May 21, 1940 in Powderly to William Earl and Gussie Foster Smyers. He married Patricia Marie Carrell in Paris on Dec. 27, 1976. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the First Baptist Church of Bogota.
He died Thursday, June 6 at the Titus Regional Hospital in Mount Pleasant. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Milburn Smyers.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Carrell; his sons and their spouses, Stephen Smyers of Houston and John and Lorie Brodie of Rockport, Idaho; his daughters and their spouses, Samantha and Tom Cooley of Paris and Linda amd Shane Arnold of Paris; a brother, Marcus Smyers of Haltom City; a sister, Lona Jones of Antlers, Okla., 11 grandchildren, and five great- grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Carrell, Joey Carrell, William Vaughn, Jeff Vaughn, Chris Carrell, Randy Edge, Jason Henry and Travis Henry.
