Funeral services for Charles Cannon age, 74, of Hagansport were held at 10:30 AM Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Lake Chapel Church with Rev. Gerald Hood, Rev. Jimmy Rogers and Rev. Jared Myrick officiating.
Burial followed at the Fairview cemetery with Wade Cannon, Kenneth Cannon, Rusty Barker, Derek Watson, Raymon Cannon and Gary Jones serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Cannon, Forest Reynolds, Glen Slaughter and The Men of Lake Chapel Church. Visitation was from 6 to 8 PM Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the funeral home.
Mr. Cannon was born in Franklin County on December 19, 1938, the son of M.L. and Lillian Kelley Cannon. He married Peggy Babb on May 29, 1964 in Ft. Worth, TX.
He owned and operated a Dairy Farm in northern Franklin County for twenty three years. In addition, he operated a custom hay bailing business until his retirement. Charles was named Franklin County Agriculturalist of the year in 2008, but his proudest moments were those spent with family and friends .especially his grandchildren Justin and Kellee. He enjoyed being a member of Lake Chapel Church and a regular contributor to the Table of Knowledge.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Cannon of Hagansport; son Randy Cannon and Kathy of Hagansport; grandchildren, Justin Cannon and Kellee Cannon of Hagansport; brothers Rob Cannon of Sulphur Bluff and Sandy Cannon of Hagansport; brother-in-law Glen Babb of Bogata; and sister-in-law Sandra Burns of Mt. Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers James Cannon, Dean Cannon and Doyle Cannon; sisters-in-law Doris Cannon and Shirley Babb and special Aunt Marie Crafts.
