Funeral services for Sue Raley, age 97 of Mount Vernon, were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Pepper Puryear officiating.
Burial was in the Mount Vernon City Cemetery.
Mrs. Raley was born on July 1, 1916 in the Union Community of Franklin County, the daughter of James Forrest Corley and Amanda C. McBrayer. She married Calvin Raley on Oct. 2, 1937 in Franklin County. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Mount Vernon.
She died on Sunday, Nov. 17 at Mission Manor Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1993; a daughter, Shirley Beth Raley; two brothers, Horace Corley and Waldo Corley; and six sisters, Leita Harvey, Orieta Inman, Mary Fuquay, Seple Davis, Bobbie Davis, and Odeal Hester.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Raley of Mount Vernon, Danny Raley of Austin, and Butch Raley of Mount Vernon; a daughter, Marilyn Wells of Bossier City, La; three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Raley, Jimmy Johnson, Ron Johnson, Wallace Corley, and Zack Fuquay.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of choice.
