Patricia “Patsy” Collins, 88, of Longview passed away November 27, 2013 at Good Shepherd Hospital after a lengthy illness.
She was born March 31, 1925 in Mount Vernon, TX. Patsy retired from Pine Tree High school with a career in education that spanned over 20 years. She was involved in the creation of the Special Education Program there, as the Vocational Adjustment Coordinator.
The family received friends from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, December 1st at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday December 2nd, at Greggton United Methodist Church in Longview with the Rev. D. Nick Sholars and the Rev. Ricky Ricks officiating. Interment followed the services at White Cemetery.
Those left to cherish Patsy’s memories are her loving husband of 64 years, Maston “Matt” Collins: her daughter Deborah Fuller and her husband Phil, daughter, Jennifer Bean and her husband Mark, and son Keith Collins, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in passing by her parents J.B. and Gertrude Brewer, two brothers and five sisters.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Lawrence Rowe and staff and Songbird Assisted Living for their compassionate care. In addition, a special thanks to the Welmaker-Joy Sunday School Class for their continued love and support.
