Judson Peter Thomas Jost (Pete), age 76, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at his home.
Pete was born on August 3, 1937 in Madison, Wisconsin to the late Rollin and Edith Reinhard Jost. Pete married the love of his life and best friend JoAnn on August 8, 1959 in Milkwaukee, Wisonsin. After nearly 55 years of marriage and a lifetime of memories, she survives. Pete proudly served his country in the United States Army where he attained the rank of 1st Lieutenant. After his time in the service, Pete worked as a regional sales manager for Noris Industry for nearly 25 years then worked in the welding supply business. Pete and JoAnn moved to the lake where life slowed down and they began to enjoy the simple things in life like the wild life. All of the ducks that frequented the lake house were all named and seen after as if they were their own. Pete loved to build model cars and tinker. He was a known handyman but those who knew him best will remember Pete for his unending love for his beloved wife and family. Pete’s best times were spent near the water in the company of his family.
Pete is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn Jost; one son, Brad Jost of Richardson; one daughter, Brenda Jost of Richardson; grandchildren, Jessicca Oxborrow, and husband Jonathan, of Greeneville, Tennessee, Jon Jost of San Antonio, TX, Stephanie Miranda of Midland, TX, Mary Jo Miranda of El Paso, TX, and Hannah and Hope Miranda of El Paso; and by great-grandchildren, Jana Knies and James Jost.
Pete was also preceded in death by brothers James Jost and Jon Jost.
A memorial service for Judson Peter Thomas Jost will be held at 3:30 P.M., Thursday, April 17 2014 at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.
