Pauline Fuquay Hazlett passed away peacefully on May 8, 2014.
She was born in Mt. Vernon, Texas on October 16, 1914 to the late James Fuquay and Nettie Hendrix Fuquay. She grew up in Lanier, Texas with four brothers and one sister, all of who have preceded her in death. She graduated from Linden High School in 1932 and moved to Dallas, Texas that summer after graduation.
She lived in the Lakewood area of Dallas and was a member of Gaston Oaks Baptist Church. She married Mart Hazlett in August of 1942, whom preceded her in death in September of 1963. For 75 years, she was an expert seamstress who her customers affectionately nicknamed “Polly the Dressmaker”.
Although never having any children of her own, she is survived by an extensive family of her siblings. Passing away at the age of 99, she has been considered the oldest living member of the Fuquay family.
