Memorial services for Donald Richters, age 70 of Mount Vernon, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donny Lane officiating.
Mr. Richters was born April 23, 1940 in Midland, Tex., to Pleas Richters and Katy Ballard. He was married to Mary Yates Richters.
He passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, June 18 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Yates Richters, his brother, Johnny Richters and his sisters, Dorothy Lee Bass and Bertie Mae Consford.
He is survived by three children, Donna and Jerry Richeson of Mount Vernon, Polly and Jerry Bogue of Mount Vernon, and Etta Lynne and Micheal Shrum of Houston; two brothers, Thomas Richters of England and Bobby Joe Richters of Friedsburg, Va., a sister, Lenora Shields of Madisonville, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Danny Wayne Bundrick, Kelly Wayne, Stephanie and Deric Bogue, Kimberly and Steven Hoelscher, Krissy Lynne, Micheal “Budda” and, Ericha Shrum; and his great-grandchildren, Trinity, Konner, and Chandler Bogue, Kaden, Kaleb, and Hunter.
Donald loved listening to gospel music, fishing, laughing, the Dallas Cowboys and being with his family. Donald touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
