Funeral services for Mary Sims, age 74 of Mount Vernon, were at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010 at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Colliers Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Freddie Henry, Rev. Jimmy Rogers, and Rev. Randy Sinclair officiating.
Mrs. Sims was born Aug. 7, 1936 in Franklin County to Marvin Hyde and Willie Henry Hyde. She was married to Buster Sims. She died Sunday, Sept. 5 in Mount Vernon. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother. She is survived by two children, Kellie Walker of Rockwall and Macheal French of Plano; two sisters, Eva Sims of Mount Vernon and Betty Bogue of Mount Vernon; two grandchildren, Temperence Johnson and James Walker; and one great-grandchild, Meaka Johnson.
Pallbearers were Jim Walker, Gene Johnson, Tony Sims, Slade Rolf, Zack Rolf, and Chris Downs.
