Memorial services for Mozelle Ottinger, age 82 of Hagansport, were conducted on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 at the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Hagansport with Rev. Jimmy Rogers and Rev. Randy Sinclair officiating.
Mrs. Ottinger was born May 4, 1928 in Hagansport to Hollis and Mack Crowston. She graduated from high school in LaMarque, Tex., and married Gene Ottinger on Nov. 16, 1946. They raised their children in Texas City and she was a homemaker. After retirement, they returned to Hagansport. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Texas City and became a member at Mount Olive Baptist Church after returning to Franklin County.
She died Wednesday, Sept. 1. She was preceded in death by her son, Darell Ottinger, her parents, a sister, Charlene Young, and a brother, Travis Crowston.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Ottinger; two children, Pat and Rocky Simon and Don and Sherry Ottinger; four grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Gloria Crowston and Velma Patton; brother-in-law and his wife, M. L. and Marjorie Ottinger, numerous nieces and nephews, and special cousins, Sandra and John Taylor.
