A memorial service to honor the life of James E. “Jimmy” Johnson, 65, is to be held Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Anderson-Clayton Brothers Funeral Home in Kemp, Texas.
Jim passed away October 11, 2010, in Hospice Care at the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Jim was born July 3, 1945, to Gregory and Evelyn Johnson in Greenville, Texas. He later attended East Texas State University with a music scholarship. Jim served in the United States Army as a security officer in Vietnam, Korea, and Germany. His civilian career included environmental research and management, and he was recently employed by the Carter Blood Care Center in Tyler. Jim served on the Board of Directors of the Franklin County Historical Society and on the original board of Mount Vernon Music, a non-profit organization.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Gregory and Evelyn, his brother Greg Johnson, and his special cousin Al Norton.
He is survived by his son Wyndham Boulter and his wife Kim; grandchildren MacKenzie, Kelsey, Alyssa, and Winston of Austin; his brother Charles and wife Linda of Tyler: nephew Brian Johnson of Dallas; and special cousins Paul and Barbara Norton of Longview, Ralph and Jean Merrill of Colorado, and Nancy and Jerry Hutson of California.
