Funeral services for Jerry ‘Pete’ Wardrup, age 55 of Mount Vernon, were at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2010 at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Providence Cemetery with John Gandy officiating.


Mr. Wardrup was born April 1, 1955 in Dallas to Glen Wardrup and Aline Kirbo Wardrup. He was married to Carol Dudik. He was the owner of J. D’s Wrecker Service in Mount Vernon.
He died Saturday, Dec. 11 in Mount Vernon.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Wardrup of Mount Vernon; two sons, Brad Wardrup of Mount Vernon and Chad Wardrup of Dallas; a sister, Elizabeth Meyers of Canton; three brothers, Robert Wardrup of Grand Saline, Billy Wardrup of Eustace, and Jimmy Wardrup of Richardson; and six grandchildren, Tanner Wardrup, Bailey Schamerhorn, Meagan Wardrup, Madalyn Wardrup, Chasey Wardrup, and Chaslyn Wardrup.
Pallbearers were Brad Wardrup, Sonny Roberts, Michael Gentry, Mike Betts, Chris Orr, Gary McManamy, and Dennis Cameron.
