Funeral services for Mr. Joy Lee Sustaire, age 74 of Saltillo, were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dwain Goodson and Rev.Mike Freeman officiating.
Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Sustaire was born on July 19, 1936 in Hopkins County, the son of Roy and Lela Davis Sustaire. He married Barbara Roberts on March 9, 1957 in Purley. Mr. Sustaire was a 1955 graduate of Saltillo High School where he later served many years on the school board. He was a director of the Legacy Bank of Sulphur Springs for 30 years. He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church. He retired as a driver for Sears Roebuck in Dallas after 23 years. He moved back to the Greenwood Community and operated a dairy for 16 years. He worked with black angus cattle until he died.
Mr. Sustaire died Friday, Jan. 28, 2011 at Margaret’s House in Longview. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Billy Sustaire.
He is survived by his wife, three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda Sue and Rocky Williamson of Rowlett, Kristy and Eric Richey of Saltillo, and Kim Brandon of Sulphur Springs; a brother, Pat Sustaire of Greenwood; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kennith Patrick, Danny Christenberry, Dan Hayley, Randy Ridner, Gus Grider, Terry Sustaire. Honorary pallbearers were Roger Ridner and Gerald Shaw.
