Funeral services for Glen Johnson, age 79 of Mount Pleasant, were at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Bates, Cooper, Sloan Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson was born to Bessie Lee Johnson on Dec. 27, 1931 in Chapman, Ala. He married Madeline French on Feb. 2, 1951. They were married 60 years and lived in Fort Worth and retired to Mount Pleasant. He served eight years in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Monticello Baptist Church and was a 32nd degree Mason. He retired from Alcon Laboratory, Bell Helicopter and TXU.
He died Saturday, Feb. 26. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Lee Johnson; his grandfather, James Wesley Johnson and his grandmother, Emma Johnson, all of Chapman, Ala.
He is survived by his wife, Madeline Johnson; a daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Gary Anderson; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Ric and Misha Johnson; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
