Graveside services for Guy Mays, age 92 of the Greenview Community, were at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Restlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating.
Mr. Mays was born on Jan. 20, 1919 in Saltillo, the son of James  F. and Mayflower Canaday Mays.  Mr. Mays was a retired dairy farmer and an ordained minister.  He was the pastor of Miller Grove Baptist Church and later Shirley Baptist Church for many years.  
Mr. Mays died Monday, March 14 at Carriage House Manor. He was preceded in death by his parents,  his wife, Mary Gibson Mays, two sons, Guy Wade Mays and Benny Gene Mays, and his second wife, Laverne Campbell Mays.  
Mr. Mays is survived three brothers, James, John and Gerald Mays, four sisters, Tera Blagg, Christine Kerr, Modine Stretcher and Jimye Garner, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
