Funeral services for Donald Nolan Winkle, age 72 of Winnsboro, were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Winnsboro. Burial was in the Lee Cemetery.
Mr. Winkle was born Aug. 30, 1938 in Franklin County to Hiram Ted Winkle and Marjorie Neames Winkle. He married Glenda June McClure on June 29, 1959. He was a retired independent business man, working in the oil industry, realty industry, and he was a former part owner of Winkle Oil in Winnsboro. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winnsboro and the Gus Garrison Masonic Lodge in Winnsboro.
He died Friday, May 13 in Winnsboro. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and an infant son, Brent Durel Winkle.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ted and Anne Winkle of McKinney and Kyle and Stacy Winkle of Mount Vernon; a daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Michael Privette of Winnsboro; a brother, Charles Winkle of Winnsboro; a sister, Debbie Hare of Bogata; and six grandchildren.
