Funeral services for Pauline Tabor Matthews, age 87 of Mount Vernon, were at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Mount Vernon City Cemetery with Rev. Scott Darby, Rev. Don Whisenhunt, and Rev. Chris Jones officiating.
Mrs. Matthews was born Sept. 28, 1923 in Hot Springs, Ark., to Louis Vaughn and Maud Burnett. She was married to Robert Matthews.
She died Wednesday, June 1 in Mount Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her husband, her first husband, George H. Tabor, and a son, Charles Tabor.
She is survived by two sons, Raymond Tabor and David Tabor, both of Mount Vernon; a sister Martha Wages of Hot Springs; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bob DeHass, Mike Morgan, Dustin Wesson, John Middleton, Cliff Marks, and Tommy Whitworth.
