Funeral services for Roma Nell Skidmore, age 79 of Hagansport, were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Paul Newby and Rev. James Martin officiating.
Mrs. Skidmore was born June 27, 1931 in Sulphur Bluff to Howard Alvin Cooper and Eva C. Rodgers Cooper. She was married to Billy Wayne Skidmore. She was a member of the Sulphur Bluff Assembly of God Church. She was a homemaker and a retired seamstress with the H. D. Lee Company.
She died Sunday, June 5 at Mission Manor Nursing She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Howard “Buddy” Cooper, Jr., Marvin Earl Cooper, and Jearl “Mutt” Cooper, a sister, Myrtle Cannon, and three nephews.
She is survived by two brothers, Troy Cooper of Paris and Steve Cooper of Hagansport; three sisters, June Sears of Sulphur Springs, Helen Chandler of Morgan Mill, Tex., and Joy Barker of Hagansport; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Bryan Cooper, Rodney Cooper, Don Cooper, Raymon Cannon, Joey Cooper, Ron Cooper, Rhett Jones, and Kaleb Dyer.
