Funeral services for Irene Harris Barton, age 93 of Mount Vernon, were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011 at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Dallas. Burial was in the Laurel Land Cemetery.
She was born July 2, 1918 the eighth child of Sidney Sanford and Katie Beulah Harris. She was raised in Denton, Tex. and was a member of the Arcadia Park Baptist Church.
She died Monday, Aug. 15, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Wade Wells Barton, five brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by Ronnie and Joyce Barton, Larry and Shirley Barton, Rena and Randy McCarver, seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
