Gary G. Ganote

Gary was born in Kansas City, MO. on June 13, 1937; and passed away in the comfort of his home on August 5, 2011 in Scroggins, TX. He served in the Navy from 1957 until 1961 as an aerial photographer. He was passionate about his career as a motion picture film editor of commercials, documentaries, training and movie films in Kansas City, MO. and in Dallas, TX.  Gary loved fishing and sailing on the lakes of North Texas.  He enjoyed his retirement in beautiful North East Texas beginning in 1998.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Ellawee Ritter; stepfather, Opel Ritter; and father, Martin Ganote.  Gary is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Ganote; daughters, Darcie Brown, Yvonne, husband John Behneman sisters, Judy, husband Bob Engelage, Marilyn, husband Harry Ostonko, Barbara, husband Jess Manahan; stepbrother, Gene Ritter, wife Connie; and grandchildren, Joseph and Jackie Behneman and Austin Brown.  He will be sorely missed.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Texas Home Health Hospice, 500 East Loop 281, Longview, TX  75605.
