Graveside services for Wayne Turner, age 73 of Mount Vernon, were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011 at the Mount Vernon City Cemetery with Rev. Bill Mills officiating.
Mr. Turner was born Oct. 17, 1937 in the Hopewell Community to Ed Turner and Mamie Lawrence Turner. He was married to Mary Jo Carter Turner.
Mr. Turner died Sunday, Sept. 4 in Mount Pleasant.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Turner of Mount Vernon; three children and their spouses, Deborah and Gary Stuart of Detroit, Cynthia and John Flanary of Detroit, and Mark Turner and Carla Belcher of Omaha; five grandchildren, Nathan, Jon, Cody, Caitlin, and Wendi; and two great-grandchildren, Tanner and Hope.
Pallbearers were George Turner, Kenny Martin, John Stephens, Stanley Walnerton, Billy Kimbrel, and Rusty Martin.
