Funeral services for Bettie Jo Purdon, age 70 of Rockwall, were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011 at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Purdon was born Dec. 23, 1940 in Franklin County to Jack Rhoades and Flossie Sword. She was married to Tommy Purdon.

She died Wednesday, Sept. 14 at her residence.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Tommy Purdon of Rockwall; a daughter, Michelle Harvey of Colorado; a son, James Christopher Lawrence; two sisters, Jeanie Walls of Rockwall and Brenda Sullivan of Pittsburg; a brother, Jerry Rhoades of Mount Vernon; two granddaughters, Katherine Lawrence and Sarah Lawrence and five great-grandchildren.
