A celebration of the life of Marvin Fite, age 70 of Longview, was at noon on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011 at North Loop Church of Christ at 1000 North Loop 485 in Gladewater. Joe Chase officiated.
Mr. Fite was born March 5, 1941 in Higgins, Okla., to Hollie Horace Fite and Sarah Lorene Torbett.  He had been a resident of Longview for three years, formerly living in Raton, N. Mex., Creed, Colo., and Mount Vernon, where he raised his family.
He died Monday, Oct. 10 in Longview.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Fite of Longview; three children, Marvin “Mark” Hollie Fite, Jr.and his wife, Lisa, of Palmer, Elizabeth Diane Fite of Palmer, and Kevin Kirl Fite and his wife, Brandy, of Mount Vernon; sisters, Louise Beauchamp, Omega Alexander and Sharon Thornton of Heartshorne; six grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church in honor of Mr. Fite.
