Funeral services for Curtis Floyd Hensley, age 72 of Mount Vernon, were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 at the New Life Pentacostal Church in Mount Vernon with Bro. James Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Mount Vernon City Cemetery.
Mr. Hensley was born June 18, 1939 in Frankston, Tex., to Dewey Webster Hensley and Molly Martha Clackley. He married Sandra June Godsey on Dec. 25, 1960 in Daingerfield. He was a store manager and supervisor for Kent Oil in Midland for over 14 years. He was a Baptist.
He died Wednesday, Oct. 19 at his residence. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Kay Keeter, his parents, a brother, Calvin Hensley, and a sister, Helen Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, June Hensley of Mount Vernon; two sons, Curtis Ray Hensley of Mount Vernon and Stephen Helpenstill of Friendswood; two daughters, Carnell Burton of Sallisaw, Okla., and Sherry Palmer of Mount Vernon; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Don Hensley of Whitney and Burtis Hensley of Scurry; three sisters, Doris McDonald of Lancaster, Darlene McPhearson of Red Oak, and Carolyn Hensley of Red Oak.
