Graveside services for Bertha Frances Avaritt, age 86 of Saltillo, were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011 at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Rev. Ken Clay officiating.
Miss Avaritt was born on May 7, 1929 in Hopkins County, the daughter of Herbert and Verona Dickerson Avaritt.   She was a shipping supervisor for Rockwell International.  She was a member of Saltillo Baptist Church and a member of Eastern Star. She had served as the treasurer of the Home Demonstration Club.   
She died Thursday, Nov. 4 at Briarcliff Health Center in Greenville. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by three sisters, Kathryn Orren of Sulphur Springs, Rosemary Avaritt of Edmond, Okla., Shirley Moore of Greenville; one brother, Frank Avaritt of Garland, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Honorary Pallbearers were Carolyn Brown, Jeanie Fouse,  Joyce Bateman, Glen Turner, Jimmie and J.B. Garner, Brenda Gorman, Freida Boofer, and Shirley Clay.
