Services were held for Annie Lou Douglass Landrum, age 90, at the Harvey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating the service were Rev. Pepper Puryear and Rev. Fred Randles of First Baptist Church Mount Vernon.
Burial was at Harmony Cemetery in Hopkins County.
Ms. Landrum was born on December 11, 1921 and entered into rest on January 5, 2012 at Mission Manor Nursing Home in Mt. Vernon. She was a native of Winnsboro, TX, lived several years in Pittsburg, TX and lived in Mt. Vernon the past ten years.
She married W. B. (Cooter) Douglass on August 17, 1945 and he preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1971. She married Milton Landrum on June 12, 1983 and he also preceded her in death on September 22, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Henry G. and Cora L. Coats; sister, Rena C. Brown; brothers Tunis Coats and James P. Coats.
She was a housewife, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pittsburg, a volunteer at the local hospitals, and a member of Meals on Wheels in Pittsburg. Ms. Landrum, “Nanny”, will be remembered by her family as a loving mother and grandmother that will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law: Dixie and Joe Zetty of Georgetown, Annette and Pat McGuire of Plano, and Kathy and Butch Raley of Mt. Vernon; eight grandchildren: Tim Daniel, Shelley Brown, Jennifer Hagan, Amy Wafford, Ryan Johnson, Jamie Doan, Jeremy Raley and Jennifer Buskell; and many great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Nell Coats of Virginia and niece, Midge Thurman of Winnsboro.
Pallbearers were Tim Daniel, Ryan Johnson, Kirk Brown, Randy Wafford, Nathan Wafford, Jonathan Wafford and Jeremy Raley.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jean LaTortue and the staff at Mission Manor Nursing Home for the loving care shown to “Ms. Annie” these past few years and also Cypress Basin Hospice. Memorials may be made to Cypress Basin Hospice, 207 Morgan, Mt. Pleasant, TX 75455.
