Funeral services for Ernest Conarroe, age 88 of Mount Vernon, were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012 at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery.
Mr. Conarroe was born Oct. 2, 1923 in Franklin County to Elmer Conarroe and Tressie Howk Conarroe. He was married to Ruby Little Conarroe.
He died Sunday, Feb. 5 in Pittsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Sidney Conarroe, and his first wife of 45 years, Johnnie Conarroe. She died in 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Conarroe of Mount Vernon; seven children, Teresa Conarroe Sanchez of Baton Rouge, La., Angela Lisa Conarroe Henry of West Memphis, Ark., Randy Conarroe of Mount Vernon, Cheryl Grisham of Lewisville, Ray Mayfield of Lewisville, Linda Sides of Shamrock, and Carolyn Joyner of Pryor, Okla.; 18 grandchildren, and 45 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mike Songer, Randy Williams, Bruce Grisham, Skipper Gaston, Randy Green, and Monty Godfrey. Honorary pallbearers were Aaron Nichols, Jerry Wilkerson, and Les Blankenship.
