Funeral services for Benny E. Price, age 78 of Chico, were at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2012 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport. Burial was in the Chico Cemetery with Rev. David Rucker officiating.
Mr. Price was born Jan. 6, 1934 to Henry and Anna Carlon Price in Bridgeport. He was in the National Guard. He married Rena Carlisle on Jan. 5, 1952 in Decatur. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bridgeport. He was a heavy equipment operator.
He died Saturday, Feb. 11 in Mount Vernon. He was preceded in death by his parents, his younger sister, and his brother, James “Chubby” Price.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rena Price of Mount Vernon; his daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Keith Weiss of Plano, Donna and Mike Lamond of Mount Vernon, Kimberley Price of Carlsbad, Calif.; his son, David Price of Mount Vernon; five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, his brother, Ancel Price of Arlington; other relatives and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Jason Lamond, Paul Lamond, Douglas Weiss, David Price, Mike Lamond, and Keith Weiss.
