Montgomery “Monty” Lee Merrell passed away on March 10, 2012 at his home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where he had lived and worked as a realtor for the past 13 years. He was born in Dallas, TX on January 9, 1955 to Nina Lucille Stubblefield Merrell and Jay Merrell.

Monty is survived by three daughters: Laura Cauthen, Tyler, TX; Crystal Van Stedum, Fayetteville, NC; and Jade Thomas, Sunnyvalle, CA; two brothers: Paul Merrell, Dike, TX; Tim J. Merrell, Tyler, TX; one sister: Gloria Jayne Merrell, Winnsboro, TX, and one grandson: Robert Aidan Anthony Lyons, Watertown, NY.

A memorial service will be held on April 7, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home, 409 N. Kaufman, Mount Vernon, TX.
