Funeral services for Georgia Ruth Cruit, age 76 of Pittsburg, were at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the New Mine Baptist Church in Pittsburg. Burial was in the New Mine Cemetery.
Mrs. Cruit was born Oct. 2, 1935 in Denton County, Tex., to Johnnie Martin Collinsworth and Elsie Ree Grimes Collinsworth. She was a member of the New Mine Baptist Church.
She died Wednesday, April 25 in Mount Vernon. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rayford H. Cruit, and a daughter, Janice Kennedy.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Terri Cruit of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Ruby Jean Meeks and Gloria Hernandez, both of Krum; an aunt, Laura Marie Elsasser of McKinney; four grandchildren, Jaime and Jason Saxon, Jeremy Cruit, Robert Cruit, and Jaclyn Cruit; and four great-grandchildren, Danielle and Hunter Saxon and Jaydin and Daurian Holmes.
