Funeral services for Wayne Morris, age 77 of Purley, were at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Liberty Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Blackstone officiating.
Mr. Morris was born Jan. 11, 1935 in Franklin County to Lisbon Morris and Hazel Joyner. He was married to Brenda Kennedy.
He died Monday, May 21 in Mount Pleasant. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Corley.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Morris of Purley; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn and Gayla Morris and Kenneth and Beverly Morris of Fisher; a son-in-law, John Corley of Bossier City, La.; a step-daughter and her husband, Kathy and Bobby Thompson of Bogata; and four grandchildren, Wendy Lowry, John Corley, Jessica and Jordan Thompson.
Pallbearers were Charles Davis, Rex Tillery, Don Morris, Dwayne Bolin, Tommy Joyner, and Doyle Joyner. Honorary pallbearers were Rodney Newsom, Bill Goodman, Biff Brown, A. J. Jones, Jon Clinton, and Joe Dan Coe.
