Graveside services for Brenda Burgette, age 58 of Mount Vernon, were at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Mount Vernon City Cemetery with Rev. David Dotson officiating.
Mrs. Burgette was born July 1, 1953 in Mount Pleasant to Johnny Barker and Flossie Hendrix.
She died Wednesday, June 6 in Mount Vernon. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Milton Barker, and a grandson, Dakota Holcomb.
She is survived by three children, Penny Holcomb of Saltillo, Jerry Holcomb of Mount Vernon, and Johnathan Burgette of Sulphur Springs; three sisters, Dorothy Spencer of Mount Vernon, Helen Robertson of Dallas, and Carol Jacobs of DeKalb; a brother, Fred Barker of Mount Pleasant; and five grandchildren.
