Funeral services for Oneta Ruth Fountain, age 68 of Mesquite, formerly of Mount Vernon, were at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Denton Baptist Church. Burial was in the Denton Cemetery with Rev. Dr. W. G. Lacy officiating.
Mrs. Fountain was born Jan. 29, 1944 in Mount Vernon. She attended Mount Vernon Schools and Denton High School. She was retired and was a member of the New Jeruselam Missionary Baptist Church.
She died Sunday, June 3 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, four sisters, and two grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Fountain of Dallas; two sons, Andrew Fountain of Mesquite and Paul D. Fountain of Dallas; a daughter and son-in-law, Paulette and Don Hunt of Mesquite; two brothers, Anison Rogers of Dallas and H. B. Rogers of Mount Vernon; a sister, Myrine Harris of South Bend, Ind.; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
