Funeral services for Sam Valenti, age 78 of Mount Vernon, were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012 at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Macon Cemetery with Rev. Pepper Puryear officiating.
Mr. Valenti was born April 19, 1934 in Buffalo, N. Y. to Paulo Valenti and Mary Severino. He was married to Katrina Dearman.
He died Thursday, June 28 at East Texas Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Katrina Valenti of Mount Vernon; and five children, Sammy Valenti of Oak Harbor, Wash., Mike Valenti of Oak Harbor, Wash., Michele McLean of Corvallis, Oreg., Camille Valenti Kahn of Gilmer, and Chris Castleman of Dallas.
Pallbearers were Jay Pennington, Gene Wacker, Benny Clark, Johnny Owens, Chris Castleman, and Gabriel Kahn.
