Funeral services for Billy Jearl Hatchell, age 76 of Sulphur Springs, were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel in Sulphur Springs. Burial was in the Stouts Creek Cemetery with Bro. Pepper Puryear officiating.
Mr. Hatchell was born May 21, 1936 in Hopkins County to R. C. and Annie Mae Ward Hatchell. He married Arlene Stevens in Big Springs on Dec. 27, 1954. He was retired from the Texas Highway Department and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon.
He died Friday, July 20. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Dianne Hatchell.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene Hatchell of Sulphur Springs; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bobby and Charlene Kerby of Sulphur Springs and Cecil and Linda Dodd of Sulphur Springs.
Pallbearers were Jim Barnes, Bobby Broughton, Frank Davidson, Bob Dickson, Glen Zachary, Bill Pepper, and Thomas Phillips. Honorary pallbearers were Wynell Anderson and members of the Pathfinders Class of First Baptist
