Graveside services for Lucia Strickland Rogers, age 72 of Yantis, were at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012 at the Rock Hill Cemetery with Bro. Rodney Crist and Bro. James McKee officiating.
Mrs. Rogers was born on Nov. 20, 1939, in Shreveport, La., to Elbridge Lewis and Ema Lou Foster Robinson. She married James Rogers in Arkansas on Oct. 10, 2001. Mrs. Rogers was a homemaker and a member of County Line Baptist Church of Yantis.
She died Monday, Aug. 6. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, James Rogers of Yantis; her son, Terry Maples of Illinois; her daughters, Amanda Neal of Winnsboro and Lucia Bitner of Grand Prairie; her step-son Jimmy Rogers, of Quitman; a step-daughter, Julie Jones of Mount Vernon; her sisters, Betty Lou Jordan, of Mount Vernon and Ester Ruth Wilhite of Scroggins; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to County Line Baptist Church of Yantis.
