Funeral services for Gerald “Hoss” Burkett, age 71 of Waco, were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012 at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Weaver Cemetery.
Mr. Burkett was born June 2, 1941 in Weaver to Ben Virgil Burkett and Floy Marie Davis. He was married to Carol Elaine Williams.
He served in the United States Navy and was a truck driver for more than 40 years.
He died Wednesday, Aug. 15 at his residence. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Marie Burkett and his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Burkett of Waco; a son, Ben Virgil Burkett of Gholston, Tex., a brother, Paul Burkett of Weaver; and a grandson.
Pallbearers were Patrick Brown, Rick Garmon, Allan Chester, Edward Gracia, Dale Goldsmith, Mike Stafford, Dustin Massey, and Valiente Maldonado. Honorary pallbearers were Troy Crone, Dwain Webb, Wayne McCollum, and Elaio Maldonado.
